Group Placement Information
Competition & Concert
It is important for parents/guardians to know that your child's competition routines for the year are also their concert routines. While these students may learn something new for the finale of the concert, or other additional classes like acro, they will not learn entirely new group routines for the above styles. This means that the costumes purchased for their competition routines will also be used for the concert.
Groups
Performa may not enter every group item in every age category each year. This decision is made annually based on the students we have, their capabilities, and with the best interest of our families in mind. For the groups we enter each year, students will still have the opportunity to showcase their talents across multiple styles, without the risk of burnout.
Timetable
Our timetable will change slightly as necessary to accomodate group work. We ask that everyone please review any new timetables when the times comes, as it may include changes to your child's schedule.
Age Groups
Students may have the opportunity to dance in the age level above their own. If this applies to your child, you will be spoken with. Please note dancing up may not always be the best decision for all students. These decisions are made with the students best interests in mind, considering their current development and ability to manage the group choreography. Dancing across multiple levels offers a great opportunity for students to challenge themselves, enhance their development, and improve their individual and group skills.
